What Did I Do This Year Better Than Last Year – 120113

Message of the General Overseer,
Pastor Dr. E.O. Abina

“But the path of the [uncompromisingly] just and righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines more and more (brighter and clearer) until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day [to be prepared].  The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.  My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.  Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh” (Prov. 4:18-22 AMP).

As we enter the last month of this year, I want to advise you to qask yourself these thought-provoking questions:
image

(1) What did I do this year better than last year?

(2) What areas of my life did I make progress in this year of progress?

(3) Have I exhausted all that God has deposited into my life spiritually, mentally, academically and economically?

(4) Couldn’t I have done better?

(5) Is there any area in which I need to improve?

All these questions will help you grow If you take time to ponder on them and be faithful to yourself.  As children of God, we are designed to grow and make progress in life. When the sun rises early in the morning, it does not show the whole of its light immediately, but as the time goes, it becomes brighter and brighter until the fullness of its radiance appears. Such is the life of every child of God. You are not created to be stagnant like a lake that flows to nowhere.

You need to grow, you need to explore. Yes, you need to make success, you need to outgrow and outshine your unbelieving colleagues as it was the case with Daniel, Shadrach Meshach and Abednego. Yes, because you are a child of God, filled with wisdom and knowledge through the Holy Spirit who lives in you. Do not think that you have achieved enough in your Christian life. You are designed to be a blessing to your family, your church and the generation at large.  You can do better.

I encourage you to prophesy this yourself:  “I can do better in every area of my life, and I will do better and greater things in Jesus name”. I want you to believe that you can still do better than you have done. Many of us have not utilized half of what God has deposited in our lives. Others are looking to us for what their lives could benefit from us. As this year is running to an end, I want to encourage you to develop a progress mentality and be ready to pay the price for it.

Give yourself to the study of the word of God more than ever before.  Explore all the good promises of God meant for His children like you. Obey what the word of God says to you. Open your mind and heart to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pray to God regularly. Keep believing and trusting God for answers to your prayers.  Learn to be hard-working and you will see what the last result would be, you will begin to prosper until you become very prosperous in Jesus name.   You are a child of destiny and you will fulfill your destiny in Jesus name.  Where others are failing, you, as a child of God, will succeed as you imbibe the culture of progress mentality in all your life career. The sky is not even your limit as you will soar above the sky in Jesus name.  Remain Blessed! Amen.
